Youth Program

Bozeman Youth Cycling provides a high-quality and fun Youth Mountain Bike Program, open to all abilities – the Youth Program is for kids going into grades 1st through 5th in fall of 2020 (please see the BozeNICA Page for older kids!). We hope to inspire life long love of and involvement in the sport. We also offer need based scholarships. If you are interested, please complete the scholarship application.

We do have some requirements for registration. The participant must be within the group’s GRADE by Fall of 2020. Everyone must wear a properly fitted HELMET at all times, additional protective equipment (like gloves!) is not required, but encouraged.  SHOES must be closed toe, we know it’s hot but we like our toes safe! PEDALS should be flat, no “clipping in”. WATER needs to be carried by each participant, either in a bottle cage or a hydration pack.

Our program is a progressive skills-based mountain bike club. The more your child is here, the better (!) as we build upon skills we’ve learned each week.

If we have to cancel based on Health Department recommendations, you will receive a FULL refund (minus $30 for your child’s bike jersey).

Session (10 weeks): June 15th to August 20th – $425

***This group is not appropriate for every child. Please complete THIS FORM to apply for the Peak Progressive group. There is a very limited amount of space in this group. In addition, there is a level of maturity, bike skills and endurance needed for this group. Please also consider registering for the Alpine Rippers team (also 2 days/week).**

At a minimum your child needs to be at a maturity level to follow coaches directions, work well in a group setting, and ride for up to 2 hrs. In addition, your child must have at least 2 seasons of riding with BYC – this ensures a level of bike handling skills needed for this team.

Focus: More advanced skills, more endurance, more riding. This group will progress faster and ride further for a longer period of time. These riders are not afraid of going down and also love the uphill ride!
